Sheng is a photography series that deconstructs the flow of life and time through abstract forms. Drawing on the dual meanings of the Chinese word “Sheng” (生/升)—signifying both “life” and “rise”—the series explores the evolution of life as a journey between abstraction and concreteness. Inspired by the concept of entropy, plaster sculptures were created as extensions of the work, expanding its conceptual scope.

In this quiet tension, withered trees adopt the forms of life—suspended in the dimension of time, yet striving to break free from its constraints. When these ephemeral moments are recontextualized within reality, a new image emerges: a clock face composed of light and shadow cast over a crowd. It swings its grand hands, constantly creating and eroding, indifferent to resistance.
