Yuetian Gao is a visual artist born in China and currently based in New York. His interdisciplinary practice spans photography, sculpture, and installation, deeply rooted in personal experiences of cultural dislocation. Exploring transformation, memory, and the fluidity of identity, Gao views identity as an ongoing process marked by continual fragmentation and rebuilding. His creative process typically begins with sculpture, which he transforms through photography—moving beyond mere documentation. By flattening these three-dimensional forms, the camera breathes new narratives into them, reinforcing Gao’s belief that identity is not fixed but profoundly impermanent. Through layered forms and shifting perspectives, he aims to foster emotional resonance and meaningful connections. Gao’s work has been exhibited at venues such as the Staller Arts Center and Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery in New York.
